Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit Japan from August 24 to 27, leading India’s largest-ever business delegation to the country, with more than 200 representatives from key sectors including manufacturing, semiconductors, clean energy, steel, automobiles, financial services, healthcare and start-ups.

India-Japan Business Ties in Focus During Tokyo Engagements
The visit, covering Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, comes as India and Japan seek to deepen trade, investment and industrial cooperation under their Special Strategic and Global Partnership. In Tokyo, Goyal is scheduled to meet senior executives of major Japanese conglomerates and industrial houses that have long been partners in India’s growth, and participate in a round-table with Keidanren, Japan’s apex business federation representing more than 1,500 companies. “Dedicated sessions are planned on semiconductors and artificial intelligence, start-ups, and engagement with foreign institutional investors, reflecting India’s growing pull as an investment and innovation destination,” the Ministry said.
Goyal will hold bilateral talks with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akazawa Ryosei and meet senior members of the Japanese government and Parliament. He is also scheduled to interact with the Indian community in Japan.
In Nagoya, a major manufacturing hub, the minister will lead a business roadshow with the Central Japan Economic Federation and the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He will also meet Aichi Prefecture officials and major manufacturing investors from the automotive and steel sectors.
