The Government has released Rs 30.81 crore in scholarship assistance to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) students in East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh during 2025–26 under the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes. “The Government continues to strengthen educational support for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) through Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes,” the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment said on August 21, 2026.

Rs 30.81 Crore Released Under SC, OBC Scholarship Schemes
Of the total amount, Rs 20.80 crore was released under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students and Rs 2.38 crore under the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SCs and Others. An additional Rs 6.83 crore was disbursed under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC students and Rs 0.80 crore under the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for OBC students.
Over 44,000 SC Students Benefited From Post-Matric Scholarships
According to available beneficiary data, 44,746 students received assistance under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SCs, while 32,813 students were covered under the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SCs and Others. Under the OBC schemes, 13,658 students benefited from the Post-Matric Scholarship and 1,997 from the Pre-Matric Scholarship.
SC Scholarship Data Covers East Godavari, Eluru and Kakinada
However, the National Scholarship Portal does not maintain constituency-wise data for the SC Post-Matric and SC Pre-Matric schemes. Consequently, the figures of 44,746 and 32,813 represent combined data for East Godavari, Eluru and Kakinada districts, as provided by the National Scholarship Portal and the National Informatics Centre, according to the Ministry.
