Thanks to the ever growing penetration of smartphones, online mobile transactions have increased exponentially over the last two years. Booking tickets and planning our vacations has become a breeze thanks to the apps available. We are today going to take the Cleartrip app for a spin and see it it really is as useful as the company claims it to be.
UI Layout
User Interface is of prime importance for users since it is something that they have to get familiar with in order to use the app efficiently. The left swipe will bring the menu drawer letting user choose if they want to book flights, hotels trains and also weekend gateways. The flow of the application is fluid and extremely responsive. Another good part is the fact that UI is highly detailed.
Feature
The best thing about cleartrip app is that it is sort of comprehensive travel app. The fact that i don't have to run around for different apps for IRCTC and hotel bookings makes it a complete one-stop travel solution. The booking flow is flawless and the menu transition is smooth. We loved the Google Voice Integration which lets users book a ticket without actually punching in with the touchpad.
The offer section is well illustrated and clear but we would have loved a reference scheme. Cleartrip have introduced a Plan option that lets users plan an entire trip without leaving the app and this includes all the arrangements for the same. The expressway is another feature that is extremely handy incase you want to book flights in a jiffy. Just add your card and you need to mention only your destination every time you book a flight.
The content curation in the collection section seems to be alright and we feel that the app could curate more of the lesser known places instead of covering only the well known places.

Wrapping it up
I have been using other booking apps including GoIbibo, the major concern with this app is that they don't host some of the features and eventually we need to move on to another application in order to access that particular feature. Cleartrip on the contrary hosts a bucket load of features and has an uncluttered UI which will help it gain popularity with first time users. Overall a well compiled booking app and customer support. We wish that Cleartrip starts pushing a new section for intra city travel.
