CES 2015: Lenovo unveils low-budget Tab 2 A7-10 and Tab 2 A7-30

Soon after unveiling its renewed line of Yoga and ThinkPad laptops at the CES 2015 event in Las Vegas, Lenovo has launched two more budget tablets, Tab 2 A7-10 and Tab 2 A7-30.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 (in the image above) and Tab 2 A7-30 (in the image below) tablets come with a price tag of $99 (around Rs. 6,300) and $129 (around Rs. 8,100) respectively. The devices will go on sale this month. TheTab 2 A7-30 variant with voice calling and 3G connectivity will be available from March. However, the Tab 2 A7-10 is available in Wi-Fi variant only.

Interestingly, both the Tab 2 A7-10 and Tab 2 A7-30 look similar and share identical specifications too.

Both the Lenovo tablets come with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixel at a pixel density of 170ppi. The Android 4.4 KitKat running tablets are still in line to receive an update to the Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 is more pocket friendly and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8127 processor, on the other hand, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 processor. Both the devices have 1GB of RAM.

In terms of storage, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 comes with just 8GB of internal storage, while the Tab 2 A7-30 has 16GB of internal storage. Both the tablets can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot. Moreover, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 lacks a rear camera, while the Tab 2 A7-30 sports a 2-megapixel rear camera. Both the tablets come with a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Lenovo has also integrated Dolby sound technology in both the tablets for better sound quality.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 measures at 8.9mm while the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 measures at 9.3mm but both the tabs measure the same in terms of height, width and weight, i.e.190.5×104.1mm and 269 grams. The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 is available only in Ebony Black color while the Tab 2 A7-30 is available in Aqua Blue, Cotton Candy, Pearl White or Ebony Black colors.
