BSNL Revises SMS Tariff – Launches 5 New SMS Packs

India’s National telecom Backbone and GSM service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) once again rationalize its SMS tariff with the launch of 5 new SMS Packs for its 2G and 3G GSM subscribers.

BSNL has withdrawn existing SMS Pack of Rs. 13, Rs.20, Rs.31 and Rs.52 and introduces new BSNL SMS Packs priced Rs 12, Rs 24, Rs 31 and Rs 52 which have been designed with different validity and increased tariff from the existing packs due to new SMS termination charges between all services providers.

All new SMS Packs are pan India applicable and will offer BSNL to BSNL Local and National SMS at 0.05 paisa (1/2 Paisa - Half Paisa per SMS) and SMS on any other Local and National  networks at 10paisa.  While SMS packs of Rs.83 will offer SMS on any other local and national networks at 7 paisa and BSNL to BSNL SMS will be remain same as 0.05 paisa (  (1/2 Paisa - Half Paisa per SMS).

These SMS tariffs will be applicable till first 100 SMS per day and subscribers will be charged at 50 paisa per SMS or base tariff whichever is higher beyond 100 SMS per day as per latest TRAI regulation.

The implementation of the revised tariff has been made in accordance with 43rd Amendment of Telecom Tariff Order issued by TRAI.

Note :

  • The MRP of the SMS STVs is flexible of Rs 3 (+/-) of above price, depending upon local market condition and technical feasibilities available from circle to circle.
  • All plans are for both 2G and 3G prepaid users of BSNL.
