BSNL reduce the Landline installation charge by 50% in a bid to attract potential customers in TN

BSNL recently came up with a reduced starter kit promo tariff for new subscribers and now BSNL has made some amends to the Landline tariffs to encourage new connections. Landline subscribers are declining steadily and the operating costs for Landline are mounting. The main attraction of this offer is that BSNL will be waiving off 50% of installation charges for new Landline and Broadband connections. This offer will be available as a promotional offer for 90 days starting from 26 of this month.

The details of the offers will be outlined below

1.Installation charges for new Landline connections cut down to Rs.375.

2.For Broadband connection, the Installation charges will be Rs.125.

3.If customers are going in for a new Landline+Broadband then the installation charges will be further reduced to Rs.500.

4.This offer will be available from all the circles.

Landlines have become a rarity these days with cell phones ruling the world. It is only the corporate offices and selective people who choose to continue with the Landline services. One of the other main deterrents is the high basic rental which one has to pay for the landlines.

Note: This is only valid for TN customers

The plan to attract is okay, but what about services? 1. Speed is worst. If is book a broadband for 2mbps i will get only 1mbps or 1.5mbps not complete speed. Reliance Broadband is excellent in speed. If i book for 1mbps i am getting nearly 2 mbps. Night time more than 2mbps. Airtel – If i book for 4mbps – i shall get 3-4mbps only. But night time i am getting 4+mbps speed. But BSNL always slow. Customer Care Worst. 2.Plans are costly now a days Even from airtel. I will support only to Airtel & RELIANCE Broadband, because… Read more »

Not giviing enough speed – you are the reason for it and not the BSNL. See the LINK speed in the modem console page and then comment here.

Read my response about SWITCH SPEED and stop blaming the BSNL broadband for the speed.

Hello Sir,
Actually i am n hyderabad since 3-4 days in roaming from TAMILNADU.
The Network of AIRTEL was worst ever. Not getting even 1pt of signal indoor.
Out door only 3 points. But other Networks RELIANCE, TATA DOCOMO, BSNL -> CELLONE
Was excellent.
My Brothers Idea cellular was poor. No Signal. Airtel poor quality voice. But kept on catching balance Even in DND.
A WORST Movement with Airtel. Today left NO NETWORK with airtel.
BSNL has wider coverage but sound quality is cracking.
TATA GSM and Reliance GSM is good. So, i am porting my airtel number to Reliance GSM

No use. It is interested only to attract new customers. But it is not cared to retain the existing customers. It has increased the rental of the Rs.750 broadband plan (1 Mbps till 6 GB and 512 Kbps after 6 GB) to Rs.800 and now to Rs.845, increased the rental of the Rs.1350 to Rs.1425 and now to Rs.1495 and also increased the rental of many broadband plans without increasing the post FU speed. It has increased the landline call rate by reducing the pulse rate for calls. I think more than 70% of the BSNL landline users use landline… Read more »
