BSNL to cut call rates up to 80% for prepaid customers starting January 16

State-run telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) has reduced its call rates up to 80% for its prepaid mobile customers, effective from January 16. The reduced call rate is applicable on Special Tariff Voucher (STV) of Rs 42 for per second plan and on STV of Rs 88 for per minute plan.

STV 88 offers validity of 60 days call rate for local/ STD on net calls is reduced to 10 paise/minute and for local /STD off-net calls to 30 paise/minute. STV 42 has validity of 21 days call rate for local/STD on net calls is reduced to 1 paise/3 second and for local/STD off net calls to 2 paise/ 3 second, a statement said.

R K Mittal, Director (CM), BSNL, said: “Our tariffs are most competitive in the industry having largest network coverage. Two new STV have also been introduced as per industry trends. STV 69 with call rates on any net at 1 p/2 sec for 30 days and STV 209 provides call rates on any net @ 1 p/2Sec with extra talk value of Rs 25 with validity of 90 days.”
