BSNL, the state-run telecom network is having a busy time in introducing new offers to its users. Less than a month ago, we exclusively reported the plans of unlimited BSNL to BSNL calling offers starting at just Rs. 99 per month. In the latest move yesterday, BSNL have come up with another plan of Rs. 144, where the company is offering free voice calls to all networks for one month.
Also, the company is bundling 300 MB of data. So, as far as other operator’s offers are concerned, this offer from BSNL is much better than that of Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India. Also, this offer of BSNL applies to both prepaid and postpaid users.
Speaking about the competition, the only operator who comes close to this offering from BSNL is Reliance Jio. To be precise, the state-run telecom operator introduced exclusively to tackle Jio. As everyone might be aware of Jio’s tariff plans that start from Rs. 149 and offers same benefits as the BSNL one.
You get 300MB of data, free unlimited calling in both the telecom networks, but the only issue with BSNL plan is it won’t have support for digital apps like Jio. At the same Rs. 144 launch, Anupam Srivastava, the Chairman of BSNL said that the company has already set up 4400 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country and the number will be increased to 40,000 Wi-Fi hotspots by the end of this year. So, this move is coming to tackle Reliance Jio as well, who's already has JioNet Wi-Fi hotspots across the country.

Speaking about other operators unlimited offerings, Bharti Airtel recently unveiled a new myPlan Infinity Rs. 549 plan for postpaid users and Rs. 348 offer for prepaid offer focusing on the unlimited free calling offer. Vodafone India is also following the same as their Vodafone RED Rs. 499 plan now offers free voice calling for the next bill cycle.
That said, BSNL is clearly ahead of the competition, but one can’t ignore the fact that BSNL still does not have 4G coverage in many areas of the country. Reliance Jio is not far behind from BSNL, though.
