Boldyn Networks, a shared network infrastructure provider, has announced an agreement to acquire Germany-based Smart Mobile Labs (SML), a provider of bespoke private 5G networks. The acquisition marks Boldyn's entry into the German market and expand its global footprint. "The strategic acquisition enhances Boldyn's technical knowledge for critical sectors, tailored use cases, and the further development of its Private 5G as a Service offering," Boldyn said in a recent statement.

Enhancing Expertise in Key Sectors
This move strengthens Boldyn’s position in the mobile private network (MPN) sector, expanding its footprint to include over 110 MPN implementations across Europe and the US, according to the official announcement.
Boldyn highlighted that SML is a key MPN player in sectors such as industrial and energy, transport and logistics, healthcare, defense, research and education, and public and private safety. This acquisition will enhance Boldyn's technical expertise in these areas. Additionally, SML’'s proprietary live video streaming software, EVO (Edge Video Orchestrator), will further complement Boldyn's service offerings.

Adding Value to Boldyn's Offerings

The deal is expected to close in Q1 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
