Today, Asus has announced the long due Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Zenfone 4 through its official Twitter account. No further details or a change-log was provided by Asus. The Asus Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 were launched in July with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean onboard while the Asus Zenfone 4 A450CG was launched last month to compete with the popular Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Since then, Asus has been able to cross the 2 lakh sales mark for the Zenfone devices launched in India.

It's sad to see that the higher priced devices like the Zenfone 5 and the Zenfone 6 are still running dated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean while Google is in the works to launch Android L pretty soon. Motorola has already promised that almost all its devices will be updated to Android L. Even Google's Android One devices which were launched this month will get Android L soon after its public release.
