Airtel Xstream Stick With Android Oreo and OTT Apps Support Launched at Rs 3,999

Bharti Airtel in its new move today has announced the launch of its converged digital entertainment play: Airtel Xstream. Airtel has been building over its previous developments and has been relying on content and digital services a lot lately. We already know that Airtel subscribers, both prepaid and postpaid, enjoy various additional benefits which include bundled content offerings. However, there was no easy way for the Airtel Digital TV subscribers to access this content on their TV screens. But, with the launch of Airtel Xstream devices, this would be an easy task. Also, Airtel has noted that over the coming months, it plans to roll out a range of exciting solutions to cater to the entertainment needs of every customer segment of India that is getting transformed through rapid adoption of high-speed data services. Airtel announced two new hardware products- Airtel Xstream Box and the Airtel Xstream Stick.




Airtel Xstream Stick: Pricing and Availability

Similar to the Airtel Xstream Box, the Xstream Stick is also priced at Rs 3,999 and there are no additional offers available right now. However, the company has made some content bundled offers available to the customers. The Xstream Stick is priced at Rs 3,999 and the customers will get free access to the content for the first 30 days and will need to subscribe to a Rs 999 annual plan to continue enjoying the exciting content catalogue.

For the launch of Airtel Xstream Stick, Airtel has partnered with Flipkart as the exclusive online partner. The stick will also be available starting today across leading Airtel retail stores, airtel.in, top electronic retail chains like Croma and Vijay Sales

Airtel Xstream Details

Airtel Xstream targets to become a complete entertainment solution as it will bring to the consumers, many satellite channels, tens of thousands of movies and shows in English, Hindi and multiple Indian languages, millions of songs, plus access to all the popular OTT entertainment apps on one platform. Also, Airtel Xstream will provide access across multiple devices like TV, PC, smartphone and others. The Airtel customers, depending on their Airtel Thanks tier, will also be able to enjoy various benefits on Airtel Xstream.

Airtel Xstream Stick: Specifications and Features

Unlike the Xstream Box, the Airtel Xstream Stick runs on Android 8.0 Oreo platform which is slightly dated if we look at the market scenario right now. It's an OTT stick that will offer a plug & play experience on the TV screens for the users. Airtel has noted that the Airtel Xstream Stick will come with a single subscription plan that provides access to all digital entertainment at a one-stop destination with over 10,000 movies and shows from top OTT content partners like ZEE5, HOOQ, Hoi Choi, Eros Now, HungamaPlay, ShemarooMe, Ultra and Curiosity Stream.

Customers will also get access to over six million songs from Wynk Music’s library. The Airtel Xstream Stick will also provide access to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and other Google Play Store applications as well.

Furthermore, the OTT stick from Airtel also has built-in Chromecast support and 1.6GHz processor. The stick also has a standalone remote that has a voice-enabled search feature and Bluetooth 4.2 makes it faster and more energy-efficient.
