Airtel Xstream Android TV Box With 4K Support Announced: Pricing and Availability

Airtel Xstream Box is the new launch from Bharti Airtel which aims at taking on the upcoming Reliance Jio Smart Set-Top Box. Airtel Xstream Box is an Android TV box from Bharti Airtel that will allow users to watch Live TV from standard DTH connection and content from OTT apps. Being an Android TV box, the Airtel Xstream Box comes pre-installed with popular OTT apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ZEE5, HOOQ, SunNXT and so on. It also has support for Chromecast and it's a 4K compatible box with Dolby Audio support. The obvious question that will come into every customer right now is: what about the Airtel Internet TV box that offers similar functionality? Well, right now we don't have any information regarding that, but most likely, Airtel is going to replace the Airtel Internet TV with Airtel Xstream Box. Alongside the Airtel Xstream Box, the company also announced Airtel Xstream stick that also runs the Android TV platform. The Airtel Xstream Box is priced at Rs 3,999 and it offers Airtel Xstream app subscription free for 12 months.




Airtel Xstream Box: Pricing and Availability

Similar to the launch price of Airtel Internet TV, the Airtel Xstream Box is also priced at Rs 3,999. The box also comes with a one-year complimentary of Airtel Xstream app worth Rs 999, along with a one-month subscription to an HD DTH pack. As mentioned above, Airtel Xstream Box allows users to watch both DTH and OTT apps content.

All existing Airtel Digital TV customers can upgrade to Airtel Xstream Box at a special price of Rs 2,249. The Airtel Xstream Box is pretty much similar to the Airtel Internet Box, but it comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Airtel Xstream Box is available starting today across leading Airtel retail stores, airtel.in and top e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Amazon and electronic retail chains like Croma and Vijay Sales.

Airtel Xstream Box: Specifications and Features

Airtel Xstream Box is an Android TV box that runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. Similar to the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and ACT Stream TV 4K. Along with the option to choose from more than TV channels, the Airtel Xstream Box comes preinstalled with Airtel Xstream app, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and Airtel Store. The Airtel Xstream Box has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and built-in Chromecast support as well.

It comes with a universal remote that features Google Assistant based voice search and hotkeys for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube. Alternatively, customers can install Airtel Smart Remote app on their Android smartphones to seamlessly interact with the Airtel Xstream Box.

And yes, being an Android TV box, there's Google Assistant support as well which allows users to issue voice commands to get the job done.
