Bharti Airtel secures award from AP government for its digital literacy mission e shakti

Airtel Andhra Pradesh has won the coveted best “Telecom Service Provider” Award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its “e-Shakti” initiative of empowering rural women to be digitally literate.

Recognising the outstanding contributions in the field of “Women Empowerment” on International Women’s Day, Airtel AP was announced winner and received the award from Mrs. Kimdi Mrunalini, Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development and Mrs. Peetala Sujatha, Hon’ble Minister for Women Empowerment in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP, Shri. N. Chandrababu Naidu at a gathering held in Kurnool.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkatesh V Raghavan, CEO, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, Airtel said, “We have trained around 4 lac women so far, in all 13 districts of the state from the self-help groups and continuing with same passion.”

“This is a big initiative where our people are fully involved and working in collaboration to achieve a purpose as a team”, he signed off.

This award reaffirms the trust and support of the Government of AP towards e-Shakti initiative and goes on to prove that there’s no better way for us to give back to the society than to educate women of our state to make them digitally empowered.
