Airtel has the largest GSM subscribers base in India at 210.53 million as of August 2014: COAI

The all India GSM reports for the month of August 2014 are out and they shed some light on very impressive facts. The total number of GSM Subs as August 2014 stands at 749.96 million which is almost 10% of the entire Worlds subscribers’ base.

The subscribers base has took a leap and increased by 5.54 million in August which literally translates into a 0.74% increase from the last month. The largest subscriber’s base is that of Airtel with the total number of subscribers reaching 210.53 million.

The Graph above clearly depicts that Uttar Pradesh East has the largest GSM subscriber’s base at 66.99 million closely trailed by Maharashtra at 61.96 million.

The cumulative subscriber’s base pie chart indicates that Airtel leads the bandwagon with 28.07% of the subscribers base followed by Vodafone at 23%. Videocon and Loop have the lowest subscriber’s base share at 0.78% and 0.40% respectively.
