After offering 15 GB data at the cost of 1 GB, Bharti Airtel is now offering 1.5 GB of 3G/4G data at only Rs 100 to few of its postpaid customers as 'Surprise' offer.

After, Reliance Jio's service launch, Airtel has cut down the data tariffs for prepaid customers to almost half. The company even launched a data pack where one can get 1 GB data for as low as Rs 50. But all those benefits were for prepaid customers while postpaid customers got some high end new combo packs.

This time the company is offering more data at dirt cheap rates to its loyal customers as a part of Airtel Surprises, where select customers can get 1.5 GB of data at only Rs 100. Currently, postpaid customers are paying almost Rs 300 to get similar amount of data to their main plans. So, there's no doubt the new surprise pack really is a cost saver.

Though, the promotional pack is limited to some postpaid customers as of now, we expect the company to extend the offer to more postpaid customers to keep them bound to its network. As Jio has started offering postpaid connection with an option to keep existing number on their network along with unlimited data and calling, this kind of offer would help Airtel to reduce its subscriber churn rate in this competitive condition.
