Idea Cellular has silently made changes to its Rs 357 tariff plan, and it's also providing 2GB data per day with the affordable plan. This change comes right after the rival operators started offering 2GB data with their tariff plans.
The Rs 357 tariff plan from Idea Cellular now gives 2GB data per day, which makes it a total of 56GB data during the validity period. It also gives unlimited voice calls including national roaming calls and 100 SMS per day. This plan is valid for 28 days from the date of recharge.
This change from Idea, for now, is said to be limited only to Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circle. Hopefully, Idea makes the plan revision on a pan-India basis shortly. Also, customers recharging on My Idea website or app will get additional 1GB data on top of the daily FUP. For now, the Rs 357 plan is offering 1.5GB data per in other circles.
That said, Idea is limiting the voice calls to just 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week, like Vodafone. Airtel recently removed the voice calling FUP and started offering unlimited voice calls like Reliance Jio, which is an expected thing because the leading telecom operator is shifting to VoLTE voice calling technology. Both Vodafone and Idea are slated to launch VoLTE services in early 2018, but there's no official confirmation from the operators though.
As stated earlier, Idea Cellular made this change, following the competitors change to the tariff plans. Airtel was the first operator to modify the Rs 349 plan as the telco is giving 2GB data per day, which also makes it 56GB data for the pack. On the other hand, Vodafone India also introduced a Rs 353 first recharge tariff plan, which also gives unlimited voice calls and 2GB data per day for 28 days.
Having said that, all the top telecom operators are offering excellent benefits with the unlimited combo tariff plans. There may not be any changes to the tariff plans in the near future.
