Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 3 in India today. The launch event will begin at 2PM IST and its live-stream will start 15 minutes before the event, at 1:45PM. The device is expected to be priced below Rs. 15,000.

Here is an embedded video for the live-stream:

Talking about the specifications, the Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD Sunlight Display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The phone runs MIUI 7 based Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset. Well, the original Redmi Note 3 that was launched in China in the year 2014 featured a MediaTek processor, however, due to a legal clash with Ericsson, Xiaomi is not allowed to sell MediaTek-powered devices in India.

It sports a 16-megapixel primary camera with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and two-tone flash, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It supports connectivity options such as Hybrid dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + GLONASS, and Fingerprint sensor. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery, which supports fast charging that can fuel up the device up to 50 percent in an hour. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be available in Gold, Silver, and Dark Grey color options.

Interestingly, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was its first smartphone that came equipped with an IR blaster and a fingerprint sensor, which unlocks the device in just 0.3 seconds. Also, Xiaomi claims that the curved design of the Redmi Note 3 is easier to hold.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is most likely to be sold exclusively via Amazon India.
