Lava, the Indian OEM which has given a slew of budget smartphones has been at the receiving end of the heat generated from the launch of the likes of Lenovo A6000 Plus, YU YUREKA, Redmi 2 and Moto E (2nd Gen). But it is constantly working on expanding its portfolio to have a strong budget lineup.
The latest device to be launched by the manufacturer is the Iris Alfa L. The smartphone has been launched for Rs 8,000 in the country. It has a 5.5-inch qHD display up front and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The processor ticking inside it is a 1.3GHz quad-core unit from MediaTek. It has a 3,000 mAh battery to keep it going on for about two days with a single charge. Let us take a quick look at the specifications of the device:
- 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels
- MediaTek MT6582M SoC, 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM
- Android 5.0 Lollipop
- 8GB internal memory which expandable by another 32GB with a microSD card slot
- 8-megapixel rear camera with PureCel sensor and LED flash and a VGA front camera
- 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and dual SIM with dual standby
- 3,000 mAh battery
- White and Grey colour options
The smartphone misses out big time in the processing department as shelling out Rs 8,000 for a device which has 1.3GHz quad-core CPU. But then many may prefer the 3,000 mAh battery it comes with over everything else.
