Motorola has announced that it has sold over three million smartphones in India. The company, which had quit the Indian market made a comeback in February last year with an online-only retail model with Flipkart.

Motorola earlier revealed that it had sold around a million units in the initial five months in India, which means that the company sold twice as many smartphones in the last 5-6 months. A fair share of attribution should be given to the launch of the Moto E, an ultra-affordable Rs 6,999 smartphone with stock Android and water proofing.

Moreover, the company is now planning to reach out to its customers in innovative ways. It is planning to launch exclusive experience and service centres in India.

Amit Boni, Motorola’s India General Manager, said,“We will roll out these exclusive service centres where users will also be able to experience our products,” he said.

Motorola is also planning on testing an innovative service, where it will have mobile service centres that will reach out to its customers. The project is still under planning and no further details are available as of now.

Explaining the model, Boni said,“We are looking at ways to provide better service to our customers and how we can reduce the service time to say 30 minutes,” he explained.
