Xiaomi has declared via a Facebook post that 15,000 Mi3 units will be available to consumers for purchase on Flipkart on 5 August (2:00 PM). The device first went on sale on 22 July (sold out within 37 minutes) and then on 29 July (sold out within 5 seconds), selling 10,000 units on each occasion. Xiaomi has witnessed a great beginning for their Indian launch.
Many thought the flash sale was part of a marketing stunt to get attention, which proved to be a successful tool in China. But, recently the company got penalized for reporting fake Redmi handset sales figure in Taiwan. FTC (Fair Trade Commission) slammed a NT$600,000 (around $20,000 or Rs 12,16,620) penalty for misguiding consumers, reported Taiwan’s national tabloid ‘Focus Taiwan’.
Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a pocket-friendly price tag of just Rs 13,999. It sports a 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon CPU, Android v4.4.2 KitKat (with custom MIUI), full HD display (440 ppi) with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, Aluminum-Magnesium alloy frame and a 3050 mAh battery.
