Most of the customers who opted for MNP were not happy due to various issue who again went back to the previous operator due to various reason.Today after the one year of completion of MNP we now ask you is MNP a hit or a flop are customers happy do share your views via comments.

    @karthik
If indoor or outdoor coverage is the only problem, then first call 198 and lodge a complain.
I was facing coverage issue and after some calls and mails, they visited my area and optimized the thing, now full coverage! Actually, towers are made mainly taking bribe, not for optimized coverage mostly.

If you still want to leave AirTel, then send request after some time.
    Good luck!

  • karthik February 7, 2012 5:33 pm

My AIRTEL mobile number 9952172142 last 3years i continued in airtel.I need to change my network for a reason of tower strength is very low inside my home.

Code. I called customer care most of times they give reference number CUNRM20207368920. PLEASE PROVIDE ME UNIQUE PORTING CODE SOON.

ported from vodafone to BSNL with lot of difficulty, vodafone rejecting mnp req for many times, ultimately approached pgportal and then cleared with lil difficulty. now after porting to bsnl, services as I feel are sub standard with noisy background, low gprs speeds, (5kBps) no offers, high rate cutters, full talktime not available on all have to go for higher denominations etc 1100, the disparity is such recently wen the 100&above full talktime offer was pan India, in AP circle it was 1100 for full talktime…absolute nonsense. guess time to change to other operator or may be vodafone. I have one thing to say here, even though vodafone is famous for many reasons their QoS is far better than BSNL.

  • S. Chakraborty January 23, 2012 12:04 pm

There is only one network which gives better service than their publicly declared service that is BSNL which also seems do not have any marketing strategy to garner more customers in their network.

Hi Benny, i noticed last year you are not satisfied with TD coverage from ur comments. Lot of my friends was complained TD coverage is useless. Now they are satisfied with the network. Even in some small towns in TN is covered by Docomo.
Magic: TaDocomo has ICRA agreement with Aircel, the network most covered areas in TN. So you are enjoying good coverage.

Dude u r absolutely right. I get Aircel signals in towns like Nazareth, but only when Docomo signal goes to zero. switches automatically. Its a gud step by docomo.

    Prime :
I am using tata docomo for past 4 month. I am totally satisfied with this network for last 4 month due to its low call rate offer and gprs. I am always do gprs offer and use internet by changing network into umts mode, so that i got continous 16 KB/sec speed. This speed is enough for browsing. But from last 19th onwards tata docomo give 3g coverage only to 3g pack activated customer. I am not satisfied with this so i going to port my docomo to any other network tomarrow.

True friend, even i m thinking same, if u hv any 2g pack activate u cant acess 3g nor u may use video cal, for that u need to hav either use 3g pak or dont use any of 2g or 3g , go for pay per use plan u wil get 3g acess.
Even i was also geting 16kbps 2days bak but nw i dont get more than 5 kbps with lots of flactuation…i hv dumped my docomo …nw i m using rgsm… Geting speed upto 26kbps however speed but average u wil get 15kbps … U dont hv any option left when u compare speed , data and cost… I opted today n working well.

Friends, If BSNL 3G has better coverage (at least 2 bar out of all 5 signal bar) in your area, you both should go for BSNL.
Use 98/- 2G pack in 2G or 3G sim by selecting 3G network (pan india BSNL/ MTNL roaming free for data usages).
Remaining data forwarding is also a good facility, if you recharge next data pack on or before last date of currently data pack.

I am using BSNL 2G (Bihar Telecom Circle) in Delhi.
It provides 15 kBps (120-136 kbps) continuous speed, as MTNL 3G network is excellent in my area.

  • Mehboob January 22, 2012 10:35 pm

I have ported from Airtel to TATA DOCOMO. I am very happy with my TATA Docomo. !st sms is charged as Rs.0.60 then 99 free for the day. And its validity lifetime. Thanks TATA DOCOMO. JUST upgrade your network coverage.

  • Kirti Raj Chahar January 22, 2012 10:33 pm

I want to go for a new operator with same number so i ported in to TATA DOCOMO (rajasthan circle) in may 2011 from BSNL but i was not satisfied with the service of DOCOMO after 90 days i again ported in to BSNL, as a returned customer. I am happy with my old operator BSNL.

  • shameer January 22, 2012 10:28 pm

I ported from Airtel to docomo….I’m so happy now…though there is no 100% coverage (which I dont like. In life there should be sometimes of out of coverage), I’m happy in offers, lack of any hidden charges, straight forward service of docomo. Now i manage my monthly usage at Rs. 300, which will be triple if i was with Airtel!

  • Saurabh Sinha January 22, 2012 10:19 pm

MNP is successful, as it seems in Poll & user comments.

Now, Inter- circle MNP is needed, which is a part of NTP, 11.
NTP, 11 may be started from Inter- circle MNP.
I hope, there is no controversy in it and most profitable & needed for both- customers & operators.

  • debashish January 22, 2012 9:30 pm

    also, aircel offers SMS rates
    Rs.9- 100 SMS/month (Local+National)
    Rs.19- 250 ” ” ” ”
    Rs.35- 500 ” ” ” ”
    Rs.49- 1000 ” ” ” ”

i have port out from tata docomo to bsnl for low cost 3g in bsnl but after migrated i came to know that bsnl 3g is worst in my area and also 2g signals are also weak i many nearly 7 complaints waited for 8 months also, response from bsnl end is horrible even i called to pgm office coimbatore one lady attended the call she disconnected the call while i am speaking…. so… again i wish to come back to tata docomo
    bsnl drawbacks:

    1) 3g coverage is weak…..

    2) expensive boosters….

    3) even the bsnl official knows your situation but they can’t able to proceed… because its government company….

    4) expensive not worth for it…..

    5) while calling in gandhi puram many times it shows network busy…..

    6) poor and worst customer care….

    7) black out gprs/sms/call benefit can’t able to avail…..

And finally, the GPRS pack is quite good(Rs.98-2GB/month)with a good speed.Idea is now present pan India. So,never worry when I go for roam.

A question should be included with this:

Have you changed your operator in last one year by not choosing MNP (closing the old connection and purchasing new SIM)?

This will give idea about those who experienced problem in poring out and opted new operator by purchasing new SIM because this process had given him more benefit (though at the expense of loosing old number)

I shifted from Airtel to Docomo GSM last june after 3 rejections by Airtel. I complained to DoT in the public grievance website and an under secretary mailed me with CC to Airtel and Docomo. After i complained Airtel officials from their corporate office called me to apologise and finally let me go.
Btw i am not a high spending customer. My monthly recharges would amount to approx 300 at the most. Still Airtel derived some sadistic pleasure in rejecting my porting request thrice.
In TN im quite happy with Docomo GSM in every aspect
Tariff is excellent in Docomo, tempting me to spend more as my usage minutes has increased.
    Call Quality is Good
    Reception is Fair
    Tariff is Excellent
    Online recharge is again Excellent
I recently used it in International Roaming and incoming messages were delivered in matter of seconds.
Overall i’m very happy with Docomo
Frankly i dont agree with people who say TD reception is bad. Its not as good as Airtel or BSNL but still i get atleast half reception in most places. but i should accept i had call drops before. and people complained that my number was not reachable in spite of me having good coverage. But now i dont seem to have that problem

i have ported-in to TATA DOCOMO from AIRTEL last year, i am very satisfied with my new operator.
But last two weeks ago i ported-out my BSNL number to VODAFONE and from the very first day i am constrained to call their cc and visit their outlet for solving the problem of VAS.
I have detemined to leave vodafone as soon as 90 are completed.

  • Zeeshan January 22, 2012 3:13 pm

Ported from Airtel to BSNL. Totally Satisfied.

  • Raaj January 22, 2012 3:04 pm

I ported my two nos,one from Reliance GSM to Vodafone and the other from MTNL to Aircel.both are successfully ported after some initial problems like Reliance did not provide me the porting code.I had to talk to the nodal officer and got the code only with 15 days validity. But the porting was done in time. But,i won’t suggest it to all,as its not as easy as buying a new sim.Sometimes u need to call the cc a lot, visit outlets a lot to get the job done and please check up with ur new operator about the offers and most imp coverage, because once your no is ported, you are trapped for 90 days.

  • sachin January 22, 2012 2:51 pm

    tata docomo is the best

  • hardeep January 22, 2012 2:46 pm

ported from idea to vodafone….. m somewhat happy but not totally. ported because idea didn’t connect at first go in punjab (where i often have to roam. that problem is solved now, but the coverage idea was giving in haryana, m missing it….. and can’t go to airtel haryana, because they have poor coverage in haryana as they operate on 1800 frequency….. dnt know what to do, sometimes think of porting to tata cdma….. any suggestions?!

  • XEON January 22, 2012 2:39 pm

I am happy with Reliance best of all.

  • amar January 22, 2012 2:35 pm

i am happy with my old airtel number.
Extremely unhappy with my MTS no, call drop, network up down is frequent and now they have started to activate unwanted vas subscription even i have not send any msg to activate and never recieve any call from such no. Which starts from 140.
MTS is useless both in voice and also in data.

  • Bikram January 22, 2012 2:34 pm

Very much satisfied with my current operator Airtel karnataka.. Earlier i had first ported to tata docomo from bsnl.. when i was at my college due to tariff issues but later i shifted to bangalore and to my nighmare Tata docomo signal in my room was worst than i had expected and all their claims of excellent coverage sounded bullish to me.. so i was forced to make a change& moved to airtel.

  • Abhijith January 22, 2012 2:29 pm

I buyed a Good fancy number from Uninor and waited for mnp and ported it to Bsnl . . . Am happy with it . . then i ported my Vodafone number because of angry over wrong deduction of my money from my balance . . . Then me ported my Airtel to docomo to get Good offers . . . Omg . . . Docomo is third rated quality . . . only its offers and voice clarity is Good . . .all others call drop , coverage all frustrated me now planning go back to Airtel just need quality of service . . . My option is Bsnl , Airtel . . .

    3 ASPECTS OF MNP :
    1) People who really needed to retain their no, are benifitted.
2)People who opted just for some cheap call rates/benefits are loosers – many are porting back, others are stuck in the middle due to partial release of numbers from previous operator – NA GHAR KA NA GHAT KA
3)Now-a-days most operators are offering new sims almost free(0/5/10/20 INR) with 30/40/50 tt & cheap call rates for 3 months. So most people are buying new sims instead of wasting 19 INR for porting.
Lastly, MNP seems to be in use mostly in urban areas. I request Admin to take notice of this factor also.
P.S: Some people(me too) just used to send PORT 9xxxxxxxxx to 1909 to get an incoming call from the company sales team the next day to avail some cheap call rates/benefits. They thoroughly enjoyed blackmailing the operators, it was aam admi’s revenge.

  • Anandh January 22, 2012 2:17 pm

Experienced worst from airtel. Thank god mnp in effect.
