Xiaomi in the past year has launched many variants of its Mi TV 4, although the Chinese brand debuted its TV for the standard sizes, there was no option for buyers of Xiaomi TV who preferred larger screens, but that might change soon. If a new tweet by the Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain is to be believed, then Xiaomi might be planning to launch the Mi TV 4 65-inch variant in India soon. The tweet mentions ‘The Bigger Picture’ coming from Mi TV India which is a solid hint towards the launch of a bigger screen television from Xiaomi. Currently, the largest Xiaomi Mi TV in the market is the Mi TV 4 55-inch variant which bears a price tag of Rs 44,999, and there is also another variant of Mi TV 4 Pro 55-inch which retails in the market for Rs 49,999. The unveiling of the upcoming Mi TV will take place on January 10, at 11 AM.
If launched, then the new 65-inch Mi TV 4 would mainly bridge the difference between popular TV brands like Samsung and the Chinese manufacturer. Further, a larger screen would mean a much more immersive audio-visual and cinematic experience for the users. The other TVs which are offered by Samsung, LG or other brands in the same sizes are much more exorbitantly priced as compared to Xiaomi', and as such, Xiaomi’s affordable pricing becomes a strong point for the company. In its tweet, Manu Kumar Jain has hinted a possible launch of the 65-inch Mi TV 4 on coming Thursday.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4 65-inch: Pricing and Availability
It is worth noting that the model which Xiaomi plans to launch in India has already been selling in China, and it comes with a 4K display and smart connectivity options. As for the price, the TV sells in China for CNY 5,999 (about Rs 63,000), while in India the most affordable Xiaomi TV is available for Rs 12,499 onwards which is the price for the 32-inch variant. Based on pure speculations, we expect the 65-inch variant of the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 to be priced around Rs 60,000 or less when it debuts in India next week. As mentioned, the launch of the Mi TV 65-inch variant will be launched in India on January 10. Furthermore, Xiaomi is also teasing that they will make five major announcements next week starting from January 7 because it's Xiaomi India's fifth year in India. Notably, the upcoming Mi TV from Xiaomi could boot Android TV out of the box.
New GST Rates Bring Down Prices of Screens and Monitors
Xiaomi has also slashed the prices of some of its TVs owing to a reduction in GST rates which will be beneficial for the buyers. As per the new standards, the monitors and screens up to 32-inches in screen size have received a price reduction from 28% to 18%. Courtesy of this, the most affordable TV in the Xiaomi Mi TV line-up starts at Rs 12,499 which is a price cut of Rs 1,500.
