Adhering to an early announcement by the company co-founder Liwan Jiang about the launch of high-end smartphones in the second-half of 2016, new leaks have surfaced online unveiling Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro. The name of the device is still under wraps, it might be named as Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro or Xiaomi Pro.
The rumoured device is tipped to come with a 5.5-inch full-HD OLED screen. It is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It would also come with 4GB / 6GB RAM, 64GB / 128GB of internal storage. New Xiaomi Pro will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and would integrate a fingerprint sensor. In terms of camera, the smartphone would feature a 12MP rear camera, of Sony’s IMX260 and ISOCELL S5K2L1, the same sensor combination found in the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices. A 3700mAh battery is expected to power the device.
Going by the rumoured specifications, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Pro seems to be a pricey choice with premium features. Xiaomi's alleged Mi Note 2 smartphone is already making rounds on the Internet, with the launch predicted to be later this month. Additionally, a new Xiaomi device codenamed Altun has been spotted in Geekbench listing and was leaked by a user Krispi on Twitter.
Meanwhile, in India, Xiaomi has appointed ex-Snapdeal executive Raghu Reddy as online sales head for the country. Xiaomi is currently focusing on improving its offline sales in India and recently got two new distributors onboard. However, 90% of its sales still come from the online space in India, at present.
