Xiaomi's massive display smartphone - the Mi Max made a debut in May, this year. Xiaomi is back with an enhanced variant of the device, dubbed as the Mi Max Prime. It is launched as a part of the three-day Diwali sale organized by the company. Regarding specs, the Mi Max Prime is superior to its predecessor. It will go on sale in India via Mi.com from October 17 for a price of Rs. 19,999.
The Prime variant of the Mi Max comes with a better chipset and RAM capacity than the Mi Max; it houses a Snapdragon 652 clubbed with 4GB of RAM. It is superior regarding storage too; the Mi Max Prime features 128GB of expandable internal storage. All these specs could make an ideal pick for the buyers who want premium features under 20k.
Other than the specs mentioned above, the Mi Max Prime is pretty much similar to its predecessor. The device features a 6.44-inch full HD 1080p display, a 16-megapixel primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top. A 4,850mAh battery backs it. For connectivity, it supports 4G LTE with VoLTE (Band 1 /3 /5/7/38/39/40/41), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS, GLONASS, and USB OTG.
Xiaomi’s Diwali sale will offer Mi Air Purifier 2 at Rs. 9,999, Mi Band 2 at Rs. 1,999, Mi 10,000mAh power bank at Rs. 1,999. On October 14, the company will unleash additional deals for the sale. The Diwali sale is set to go live on October 17th and 19th.
To refresh, the Mi Max standard variant comes with a massive 1080p display of 6.44-inch. Similar to China, the device was launched in two variants in India – 3GB RAM/32GB storage/Snapdragon 650 hexacore SoC (priced at Rs. 14,999) and 4GB RAM/128GB storage/Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC (priced at Rs. 19,999). The metal-clad smartphone will be available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Silver color options.
