Vodafone to start 4G services in West Bengal soon

As Vodafone India enters the final stages of bringing the world’s largest 4G network to West Bengal & Sikkim circle, it announced today, the availability of 4G SIMs at all Vodafone Stores, Vodafone Mini Stores and 10000+ multi brand outlets located across West Bengal & Sikkim. All Vodafone customers in West Bengal & Sikkim can exchange their existing SIM to a 4G ready SIM. Initially the 4G services will be launched in selected towns of North Bengal and Sikkim.


To ensure a smooth and seamless exchange of a 4G ready SIMs, these are being made available in advance of the commercial launch of Vodafone’s 4G services in West Bengal. A formal announcement regarding the launch, which is expected soon, will be made in due course. To avail the 4G services, customers will need to use their 4G ready SIM in a 4G enabled handset.

Customers can walk into any nearby Vodafone Store, Vodafone Mini Store or 10000+ multi brand outlets in West Bengal & Sikkim and get their 4G ready SIM free of cost with a hassle free exchange process. With the new 4G ready SIM, they will continue to enjoy uninterrupted mobile internet experience as per their existing plans and will be automatically upgraded to 4G as soon as the services are launched commercially in West Bengal.

There are more to 4G SIM exchange. Any customer doing 4G SIM upgrade will get exclusive free data benefits. Depending on the customer type, any customer will be able to enjoy free 1 GB 4G data on launch of Vodafone 4G services. Customer will be eligible for the above mentioned offer only when they SMS VODA 4G to 199 (toll free) post successful 4G SIM exchange.

Vodafone has successfully tested its 4G services on its robust network architecture coupled with strong backup to support the expected volumes and speed requirements of its customers. In the past few months, Vodafone has invested significantly in modernizing its existing network, incorporating the latest advances in technology making it more resilient and energy efficient.

i cant understand why voda givs costlier srvc , in upeast u cant activate voice tarrifs via balance deduction that means doesnt matter how much main bal. u hv, u hv 2 pay money frm ur pocket 2 activate a voice tarrif (excluding daily packs). today voda care told me if i activate rs.249 3G DATA pack frm main bal. i will get 1GB 3G DATA but if i recharge my account by rs.249/- via E-TOP i will get 2GB 3G data . why such type of discrimination

The same happened with me also. I was not aware of the same and activated from mobile balance and got only 1GB 4G instead of 2GB. Total loss!!
