Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has reduced the validity of two prepaid plans which cost Rs 666 and Rs 479. These plans have been available for users for quite some time. Now the overall cost of these plans has gone up, even though you are essentially spending the same amount. It is interesting that this change was brought now because the tariff hikes took place in July 2024. The two plans don't offer much data to consumers on a daily basis. However, with the Rs 666 plan, you at least get the benefit of Hero Unlimited. Let's take a look at these two plans.

Vodafone Idea Rs 479 and Rs 666 Plans Old and New Benefits

Vodafone Idea's Rs 479 plan used to come with 56 days. Now it comes with 48 days of service validity. The other benefits of this plan remain the same. Users get 1GB of daily data, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMS/day. Post the consumption of FUP (fair usage policy) data, the speed reduces to 64 Kbps.

Then there's the Rs 666 plan. Vodafone Idea's Rs 666 plan now comes with 64 days, earlier it used to come with 77 days of service validity. The other benefits remain the same. Users get 1.5GB of daily data, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMS/day. There are also Vi Hero Unlimited benefits. These benefits are Weekend Data Rollover, Data Delights, and Binge All Night. All of these benefits will allow users to get the best data experience with their plan.

These plans have become more expensive in a bid to boost the overall revenues. This will help the company in boosting its average revenue per user (ARPU). However, it could also have an adverse effect in the company's overall customer base. The telco has been losing customers to competitors, and many have indicated the rising prices will not help.
