Vodafone Idea has a strong market share in Mumbai, and the consistent quality (CQ) index also showed the telco to be doing pretty well in the region. The telco is also looking to invest more in its priority circles to improve the network experience for consumers there.

Vodafone Idea (Vi), the third-largest telecom operator, while continues to lose subscribers in the national market, but it is still going strong in Mumbai. The performance in Mumbai is totally different. Opensignal Susbcriber Analytics show that Jio accounted for 59% of Vi's net losses in Q4 2025. However, this trend is not true for Mumbai.

"In India’s largest and most valuable metro area, Vi maintains a strong position. This reflects a clear alignment between network performance, investment and commercial execution," said a recent Opensignal report.

Vodafone Idea has a strong market share in Mumbai, and the consistent quality (CQ) index also showed the telco to be doing pretty well in the region. The telco is also looking to invest more in its priority circles to improve the network experience for consumers there. Vi has 17 priority circles, and the telco is planning to invest a massive Rs 45,000 crore in these regions. In Maharashtra, Vodafone Idea's localised Customer Value Management (CVM) strategy focuses on Below-the-Line (BTL) offers and digital bundles tailored to the region.

Vodafone Idea is not competing with the other telcos on a price level. Instead, it has reinforced its position through targeted, location specific propositions - helping limit exposure to broader churn dynamics.
