Vodafone Idea (Vi) offers a range of international roaming (IR) plans for its prepaid customers, providing multiple options across value packs, budget packs, Haj packs, and a dedicated South Asia pack. These plans offer a mix of free and discounted benefits across different country groups, catering to travellers with varying duration and usage requirements.

Unlimited/Value Packs: Higher Allowances for Frequent Travellers

Vodafone Idea’s Value Packs are priced between Rs 695 and Rs 6,995, with validity ranging from one day to 28 days.

The Rs 695 pack (1 day) offers 1 GB data, 120 minutes per day of outgoing local and India calls, and free incoming calls in UL countries. In non-UL countries, it provides 300 MB data, 50 outgoing minutes, and free incoming calls.

The Rs 2,695 pack (4 days) includes 4 GB data, 120 minutes per day of outgoing (local and to India) calls, and free incoming calls in UL countries, while offering 1.2 GB data, 200 outgoing minutes, and free incoming calls in non-UL countries.

The Rs 3,495 pack (7 days) provides free data, outgoing (local and to India), and incoming calls in UL countries, along with 2 GB data, 200 outgoing minutes, and free incoming calls in non-UL countries.

The Rs 4,695 pack (10 days) provides free data, outgoing (local and to India), and incoming calls in UL countries, while non-UL countries receive 3 GB data, 300 outgoing minutes, and free incoming calls.

The Rs 5,195 pack (14 days) provides free data, outgoing (local and to India), and incoming calls in UL countries, and offers 5 GB data, 500 outgoing minutes, and free incoming calls in non-UL countries.

The Rs 6,995 pack (28 days) includes 15 GB data and 120 minutes per day of outgoing (local and to India) calls, along with free incoming calls in UL countries, and 5 GB data, 500 outgoing minutes, and free incoming calls in non-UL countries.

Usage Post Quota Consumption (Unlimited Packs):

For unlimited international roaming packs, Vi has specified uniform post-quota tariffs. After the bundled quota is exhausted, outgoing calls are charged at Rs 3 per minute, data usage is charged at Rs 1 per MB, and outgoing SMS are charged at Rs 15 per SMS.

Budget Packs: Lower-Cost Options with Limited Benefits

Budget Packs start at Rs 495 and go up to Rs 2,998, offering shorter validity and modest allowances.

The Rs 495 pack (3 days) provides 50 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes, with no data in both Set 1 and Set 2 countries.

The Rs 755 data-only pack (5 days) includes 1 GB data in Set 1 countries and 500 MB data in Set 2 countries, with no calling or SMS benefits.

The Rs 756 voice-only pack (7 days) offers 100 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes in Set 1 countries, and 50 outgoing and incoming minutes in Set 2 countries, with no data.

The Rs 995 pack (10 days) provides 1.25 GB data and 100 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes in Set 1 countries, along with 250 MB data and 50 outgoing and incoming minutes in Set 2 countries.

The Rs 1,495 pack (15 days) includes 2 GB data and 200 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes in Set 1 countries, and 750 MB data with 100 outgoing and incoming minutes in Set 2 countries.

The Rs 2,997 pack (365 days) offers 1.5 GB data and 125 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes in Set 1 countries, and 500 MB data with 50 outgoing and incoming minutes in Set 2 countries. For the UAE, the pack offers only 25 minutes of outgoing and incoming calls with no data entitlement.

The Rs 2,998 pack (30 days) provides 5 GB data and 200 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes in Set 1 countries, along with 1 GB data and 100 outgoing and incoming minutes in Set 2 countries.

Haj Packs: Tailored for Pilgrims

Vi’s special Haj Packs are applicable in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Iraq.

The Rs 1,199 pack (20 days) offers 2 GB data, 150 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes.

The Rs 2,388 pack (40 days) provides 4 GB data, 300 outgoing (local and to India) and incoming minutes.

South Asia Pack: Short-Term Regional Travel

The South Asia Pack, priced at Rs 1,899 with five days' validity, offers 1 GB data per day, 250 outgoing local and India call minutes, and incoming calls. It is applicable in Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia.

Usage Post Quota Consumption:

For Budget, Special (Haj) International Roaming Packs and the South Asia Pack, once the bundled quota is exhausted, outgoing and incoming calls are charged at Rs 10 per minute. Data usage beyond the included allowance is charged at Rs 10 per MB, while outgoing SMS are charged at Rs 15 per message.

Terms and Conditions

Vodafone Idea says that all international roaming packs are meant only for end customers and not for commercial or non-retail usage. Non-retail usage is defined as cumulative outgoing or incoming call duration exceeding 120 minutes per day and/or data usage exceeding 2 GB per day, which is significantly higher than average daily usage by an individual customer while on international roaming. Any such usage is subject to scrutiny, and Vi reserves the right to take appropriate action.

The company has also clarified that these international roaming packs are not applicable for customers in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and the North East circles.
