Vivo V11 Pro Picks Up 4K Video Recording Option via OTA Update

Follow Us

Vivo's V11 Pro is now receiving a new over-the-air (OTA) update in India which adds 4K video recording option. The V11 Pro was launched earlier this month in India at a price of Rs 25,990 and the device shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouch 4.5. However, the device didn't have the option of recording 4K videos, which was underwhelming and several users expressed their disappointment on social media portals regarding the lack of an important feature. Other smartphones in the similar price range such as Nokia 7 Plus, Xiaomi Poco F1, Honor Play, all offered 4K video recording functionality.

Vivo V11 Pro 4K Recording Functionality Added After Feedback from Users

The Vivo V11 Pro is a mid-range smartphone sporting Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. While the hardware of the smartphone supports 4K video recording, Vivo did not add the functionality out of the box. Thankfully, Vivo has added the feature. In other news, Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 Pro also doesn't have support for 4K video recording and the company is yet to enable the feature, which is underwhelming. Even the cheaper Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones offer 4K video recording. Hopefully, Xiaomi also adds 4K video recording to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The software update is rolling out via OTA, but not everyone will receive the update right away because it's a staged rollout.

Vivo V11 Pro Specifications and Features

Vivo's V11 Pro has the trendy waterdrop notch on top of the display. The phone rocks a 6.41-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels. The chipset inside the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE, which comes paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone has a dedicated microSD card for storage expansion.

The V11 Pro rocks dual cameras of 12MP+5MP sensors on the rear side, followed by a 25MP selfie camera on the front. The phone offers connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a Micro USB port. The device is backed by a 3400mAh battery with Dual Engine Fast Charging support.

Vivo V11 Pro Price in India, Colour Options and Availability

Vivo has launched the V11 Pro at a price of Rs 25,990 in India. As mentioned, the phone comes in a single 4GB+64GB variant. Before making the device available via open sale, Vivo took pre-orders for a week. During that period, the V11 Pro was pre-booked by more than one lakh users, making the device an instant hit for the company.

At the moment, the V11 Pro can be purchased across online portals such as Amazon India, Flipkart, Vivo e-Store, Paytm Mall and Snapdeal. Alternatively, the V11 Pro can be picked across major offline stores in the country.
