Viettel Group, Vietnam's telecommunications company, has announced collaboration with Juniper, an AI-driven network solutions provider, for its network refresh. Specifically, Viettel has selected Juniper's MX960 Universal Routing Platform to bolster its network capabilities and accommodate the growing demand for digital services in the country.
Digital Transformation in Vietnam
The official statement noted that Vietnam has over 77 million internet users and is the fastest growing digital economy in Southeast Asia. Viettel Group has over 70 million mobile subscribers worldwide. In Vietnam, Viettel is reported to hold a 54 percent share of the mobile market and a 40 percent share in the fiber internet market.
Strengthening Network Infrastructure
Viettel's collaboration with Juniper Networks aligns with Vietnam's digital transformation agenda, aimed at enhancing connectivity. According to the joint statement, the partnership, which builds on over a decade of leveraging Juniper's routing and security solutions, will see the integration of Juniper's MX960 Universal Routing Platform and MX-SPC3 Services Cards.
This upgrade will enhance Viettel's capacity for carrier-grade network address translation (CGNAT), ensuring seamless management of network traffic and IPv4-IPv6 coexistence.
Enhanced User Experiences
According to the statement, these upgrades have empowered Viettel to efficiently expand its consumer mobile and fixed broadband services, resulting in enhanced user experiences, including gaming, streaming, work applications, and more.
"Three decades later, our goal remains simple: to integrate digital technology into all aspects of social life, ultimately serving the people and building a thriving digital society in Vietnam," said Viettel Group.
"With Juniper's high performance, reliable and scalable networking, Viettel has a solid foundation for growth as it maintains its position as a leading service provider in Vietnam while expanding its operations across Latin America, Africa and Asia."
