Reasons Why the Upcoming Redmi Note 6 Pro Might Dull the Shine of Nokia 6.1 Plus

HMD Global launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus in India, and the phone has been flying off the shelves ever since. Given that the phone comes with impressive specifications like the Snapdragon 636 and also bears an affordable mid-range price tag makes it a worthy buy for a lot of Indians. The phone is also a step up from the previous iteration, it comes with a notch and also sports a 16MP selfie shooter. However, there is one device awaiting launch which might threaten the excellent position of the Nokia 6.1 Plus – the Redmi Note 6 Pro.

The success of Redmi Note 5 Pro is very well known, as such, Xiaomi is eyeing a similar path for its yet to be launched Redmi Note 6 Pro. Given that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will bear a similar price tag as the Nokia 6.1, it is entirely possible that Xiaomi might dethrone the Nokia phone from its current rank.

Reasons why Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is Better than Nokia 6.1 Plus

Affordable 3GB Option

Xiaomi has established its stronghold in India based on its affordably priced smartphones. With the new launch as well, the company is not going to deviate from its motto. Keeping that in mind, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is also going to come in a 3GB and 32GB internal storage variant meaning that it will sport a much more affordable price tag as compared to the Nokia 6.1 Plus model which sports 4GB of RAM and costs Rs 15,999. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is going to hit the price point of Rs 12,999 which is definitely going to be much more appealing to the masses.

Dual Selfie Camera

Although a lot of people might hate the notch, Xiaomi seems to be putting the upper edge to good use in the Redmi Note 6 Pro since the phone is going to house dual cameras on the front side. On the flip side, the Nokia 6.1 Plus only comes with a single camera sitting over the notch area. The AI-based dual front setup on the Redmi Note 6 Pro is going to consist of a 20MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensing unit.

Improved Battery

While the Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a 3,060mAh battery, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will pack a massive 4,000mAh unit which is bound to make the phone stand apart from the Nokia 6.1 Plus when it comes to talk time and stamina.

Colour Options

This is another area where the Xiaomi phone will have the edge over the Finnish giant. Where the Nokia 6.1 Plus comes in three standard colour variants of black, blue and white, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will also come in Pink, Blue, and Red variants apart from a Black variant.

IR Blaster

This is another feature which remains exclusive to Xiaomi phones, and it is especially nice to see the Chinese manufacturer retaining the IR blaster in the Redmi Note 6 Pro. Through the IR blaster, Note 6 Pro users will be able to transform their phone into a universal remote for any electronic equipment. The Nokia 6.1 Plus, however, won’t be able to do the same since it does not come with an IR blaster.

Redmi Note 6 Pro Additional Features and Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro debuts with a 6.26-inch full-HD+IPS LCD panel which renders a resolution of 2280×1080p on a 19:9 aspect ratio screen. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro also boasts of being the first phone by Xiaomi to have four cameras, with two on front and two on the rear side.

For hardware and performance, the phone will pack Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM along with 64GB of memory, or 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage.
