After MySpeed app and DND Services, the Telecom Regulator Authority of India (TRAI) has launched a new portal named “TRAI Analytics Portal”. The portal is a way for the subscribers to know telecom industry better. In the portal, TRAI provides access to the results of the independent Drive Tests it conducted across India. The results are displayed city-wise that people can click on the respective city to access the test result.

The MySpeed App is also added in the Analytics portal. MySpeed allows users to download the app and test their data speeds. The app is available for both Android and iOS users.

Another addition on the portal is QoS analysis or Quality of Service performance of the providers. Through this portal, users can identify the QoS of the service providers for any specific location in India. Users can also navigate and view performance metrics from service area to district to the city and finally to the BTS level.

TRAI Analytics Portal is accessible to all users in India. “It is a transparency portal where consumers will get information on all parameters of quality of service (QoS) including call drops, coverage or call quality,” TRAI Chairman R. S. Sharma said at the launch of the portal.

“The information will be available in different granularity… overall, at an aggregate level and even down to the tower level. Consumers, in a particular location, can see the number of towers around the area, see the call drop rate, and what is the performance of individual service providers on different parameters in that area,” Sharma said.

The data that telecom service providers submitted to TRAI will be regularly updated on the portal. According to TRAI, this will enable the people analyze the performance of the telecom operators themselves and choose the provider wisely.
