Toshiba has unveiled the WT-8 tablet, company’s brand new Windows 8.1 tablet in India. The WT-8 tablet was originally announced as Encore 2 in May 2014.
The WT-8 tablet comes with an 8-inch WXGA (1280x800 pixels) 10-point multi-touch display and is powered by Intel Atom Z3735G processor. The tablet sports a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera. As an added attraction, it is equipped with 1-Year free Office 365 subscription. Toshiba will be selling it exclusively through Amazon.
The tablet has 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It is backed by a 3788mAh battery with up to 11.1 hours of usage time. The WT-8 tablet is studded with stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus for surround sound experience through Virtualizer and Decoder that converts the two-channel stereo audio into 5.1 channels.
In terms of photography, it features a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera. It has connectivity options such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and runs Windows 8.1 with preloaded apps like Xbox Music and Video, Kindle Reader and Skype.
The Toshiba WT-8 is set to rival against the Notion Ink Cain 8 tablet, which comes with almost similar specs and is much more affordable at Rs 9,990.
