With passage of time, we are able to get better smartphones at lower prices. Its raining value for money smartphones these days and all thanks to Motorola, Indian manufacturers are working towards bringing more and more value for money devices at lower price points. Today we have for you a list of top 5 smartphones which have a 1GB RAM and cost below Rs 10,000.

Moto E (Rs 6,999)

As long as we are talking about some really good devices in the sub Rs 10,000 price bracket, how can Moto E be left behind. The device is pretty much a benchmark in the sub Rs 10,000 range for a value for money device and comes with a 1GB RAM too. Here are its specifications:

  • Black and White colours
  • Rs 7,999

Lumia 525 (Rs 8,999)

The Lumia 525 is the lone Windows Phone device with a 1GB RAM battling it out against these budget droids. It has Lumia 520 to support it but it comes with a 512MB RAM.

Nokia Lumia 525
  • 4 inch IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels
  • 1 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
  • Adreno 305 GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • Windows Phone 8
  • 8GB internal storage which can be expanded by another 64GB
  • 5MP rear camera, no front camera
  • 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with aGPS take charge of the connectivity department
  • 1430mAh
  • Rs 8,999

Our take

All the devices put forth a compelling case and the four budget droids go closely matched in terms of performance. The Lumia 525 falls short because of a less capable processor but makes up for it the optimisation department. I’d call it a tie between the Moto E and Unite 2 followed by Iris X1, Q600s and Lumia 525.
