TataSky the leading DTH service provider has finally launched a HD addon pack for its subscribers. Previously TataSky subscribers who wished to watch HD channels had only 3 options, either pay an HD access fee of Rs.175 to view the HD channels included in their base packs or to subscribe to the Mega HD pack which includes all HD channels for South or Rest of India subscribers or then to subscribe to individual HD channels A-la-carte.
Now TataSky subscribers have a fourth option which is to subscribe to the HD addon pack which is available for Rs.95 per month and includes 17 channels like Discovery HD world, Colors HD, Animal planet HD world, History Tv18 HD, Nat Geo wild HD, Fox life HD, National geographic HD, & Pictures HD, Star Gold HD, Zee cinema HD, Epic HD, & TV HD, Zee HD, Sony HD, Star plus HD, Life OK HD, M tunes HD. This pack can be subscribed to in conjunction with existing base packs and does not need payment of HD access fee.
TataSky currently offers 51 HD channels and services including 3 showcase HD movie channels. From 31st December 4 HD channels namely HBO Defined HD, HBO Hits HD, Sun music HD and KTV HD will be removed by from TataSky platform which will create room for addition of other HD channels and services. TataSky is offering HD access fee of just Rs.5 for the first month for subscribers with HD set top box who are currently not subscribed to HD channels. The operator plans on adding many more channels over the next couple of months from the added capacity from transponders on GSAT 10.
