1 Tbps DWDM Test

The trial transported 6 x 100GE and 1 x 400GE high-speed services over a single 1 Tbps wavelength across a distance of 850 km, demonstrating the performance of Nokia's Data Center Interconnect (DCI) DWDM solution in STC Group’s data center environments.

"With the ability to significantly increase the capacity of the digital network, STC Group and Nokia are enabling faster and more efficient data transmission over long distances," the official release said.

Enhancing Data Center Connectivity

According to Nokia, the solution is designed to fit into the data center with advanced energy efficiency. It addresses the transport needs of AI/cloud services and will offer consumers improved network efficiency and performance across the kingdom.

The collaboration, according to both partners, lays the groundwork for enhancing Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure, expanding 5G coverage, and promoting the adoption of cloud computing, among other objectives.
