Sony might launch their latest high-end smartphones, the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact in India on 25th of September. AndroidCentral is reporting that Sony has sent out media invites for the launch of these high-end Android smartphones. They were officially unveiled during Sony's pre-IFA 2014 event in Berlin earlier this month. Even Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy Alpha in India on 27th of September.
The Sony Xperia Z3 features a 5.2-inch IPS 1080p display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage space. It also features the same 20.7MP Exmor RS camera sensor which was used in the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z2 albeit with some improvements in image quality. The device can record 4K videos and has a 2.2MP front-facing camera. The device has improved ruggedness with IP68 certification and features a 3100 mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact on the other hand features similar hardware internals with the only changes being the 4.6-inch HD screen and a smaller 2600 mAh battery to suit the screen. Both these devices run Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sony's unobtrusive custom UI on top of it. The Xperia Z3 is expected to be priced at Rs 49,999 while the Xperia Z3 Compact might be priced at Rs 38,999 in India.
