Sony has launched the Xperia XA1 Ultra smartphone in India today soon after launching its high-end Xperia XZ Premium smartphone. The Xperia XA1 Ultra was first unveiled at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona back in February this year, alongside the Xperia XZ Premium.
The Xperia XA1 Ultra is now available for purchase in all Sony Centres across India and also in major electronic stores. Priced at Rs. 29,990, the Xperia XA1 Ultra comes in three different colour options – Gold, White, and Black.
As a starting offer, the company is offering some interesting deals on purchase of the device. To start with, the users will be getting a Quick Charger worth Rs. 1,490 in the box. Along with that, the customer will also get three months of free subscription on the Sony LIV app and Rs. 1,000 off on purchase of the phone’s Style Cover Stand (SCSG40).
This mid-range smartphone sports a full polycarbonate body design-wise with an edge-to-edge screen for an “immerse viewing experience”. Just like the XA1, the XA1 Ultra also has a bezel-less display giving a premium look and feel to it. The handset also gets a fingerprint sensor along with a dedicated camera shutter key.
The Xperia XA1 Ultra packs in an enormous 6-inch screen with Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass on top for display protection. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor, clocked at 2.3GHz. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. You also have the option of further expanding the memory up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.
In terms of software, the Xperia XA1 Ultra is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The handset comes with the standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, and Type-C USB port for external connectivity and charging.
When it comes to the photography segment, the Xperia XA1 Ultra excels with a 23MP rear camera that also has f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, phase detection, and the LED flash. On the front, the device houses a 16MP sensor with Optical Image Stabilization and smart selfie flash for capturing selfies in low-light conditions and for video calls.
On the battery front, the Xperia XA1 Ultra is backed by a 2,700mAh Li-Po cell with fast charging support. The company claims that the Xperia XA1 Ultra uses the ‘intelligent charging’ feature to track the power usage patterns and adapts to them to increase the battery lifespan.
