Reliance Retail will source three lakh high-end VoLTE smartphones from Chinese handset maker ZTE to support its sister company Reliance Jio’s commercial launch, which is likely to take place soon.

According to a report in ET, the retail arm of Reliance Industries Limited is also sourcing VoLTE smartphones from other Chinese original device manufacturers (ODMs) CK Telecom, Wingtech, and Tinno Mobile, which are among the top five ODMs globally.

The report said that ZTE has already provided 3 lakh VoLTE smartphones– Blade S6, S6 Plus, V53S (Nubia) smartphones–units to Reliance Retail. ZTE will now provide Blade S7 smartphones, along with some new smartphone models to Reliance Retail.

The Blade S7 features a 13 mp rear and selfie camera. The report also said that the Reliance company is currently in talks with ZTE, along with other Chinese ODMs for the procurement of Rs 3000-Rs 3500 VoLTE smartphone, which was spoken about by RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani.
