Reliance Jio has brought the "value" category of prepaid plans after removing it completely a few days back. Under the value category now, users will get the voice-only plans which cost Rs 448 and Rs 1748 plans. Now there's a new sub-category under the value category which is called "Affordable Packs". Under this sub-category from Jio, now there's the Rs 189 plan. This plan is not new by any standard as it was already available before. The same plan, in fact, used to cost Rs 155 before the tariff hikes were implemented in July 2024. TelecomTalk reported on January 30, 2025, that Jio has removed the Rs 189 plan. However, that plan is now back in the offering.

This is the most affordable pack from Jio at the moment. Alternatively, you can go for the Rs 199 plan which comes with 1.5GB of daily data with 18 days of service validity, and 100 SMS/day. This plan has much lesser validity than the Rs 189 option, but there's way more data. There's no unlimited 5G bundled with either the Rs 199 or the Rs 189 plans.
It is unclear if Reliance Jio will bring another value plan for 84 days, as Bharti Airtel is already offering for Rs 548. In the last few days, Indian telecom operators have made several changes to their prepaid plans. The coming few days will be interesting to note as the offerings of Vodafone Idea (Vi) and Bharti Airtel may also undergo more changes.
