Realme is all set to launch its first flagship smartphone in India tomorrow (November 20). The Realme X2 Pro, which already made its debut in Europe and China, is now coming to India, and it could be the last phone of 2019 to launch with Snapdragon 855+ chipset. The Realme X2 Pro sports high-end specifications on paper and it even received excellent reviews in the markers where Realme has launched it. The Realme X2 Pro will take on the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro and Asus 6Z smartphones in the country and it could be the cheapest phone with a 90Hz Fluid AMOLED screen. Other specs of the X2 Pro include 4000mAh battery, 50W Super VOOC charging technology, 20X Hybrid Zoom, 64MP quad-camera setup and it may come with ColorOS 7.0 based on Android 10 out of the box. Here's everything you need to know about the Realme X2 Pro.
Realme X2 Pro: Specifications and Features
Aforesaid, the Realme X2 Pro is not making its global debut tomorrow as the phone is already available for purchase in a few countries like Europe and China. Since the phone is already launched, we have the complete spec-sheet of the handset. The Realme X2 Pro has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display on the front with 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Unlike the Redmi K20 Pro, the Realme X2 Pro features a teardrop notch on top of the display.
Underneath, the phone packs the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset clubbed with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In China, Realme launched three variants of the smartphone- 6GB+64GB, 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. The latter two variants feature UFS 3.0 storage, while the base variant arrived with UFS 2.1 storage. That said, we may see Realme taking the route of Xiaomi by launching the X2 Pro in just 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB storage variants. The phone lacks a microSD card slot so users will have to settle down with the onboard storage.
The highlight of the Realme X2 Pro is its fast charging technology. Realme has included 50W Super VOOC technology on the X2 Pro. The phone sports a 4000mAh battery, and with the bundled charger, you can top-up the phone from 0% to 100% in just 33 minutes. Despite featuring a glass back, the Realme X2 Pro lacks wireless charging, but everyone is already excited about the 50W fast charging technology which the phone packs.
Moving onto the cameras, the Realme X2 Pro features a 64MP quad-camera setup on the rear side and it will be the company' second phone in the country after the Realme XT to feature the 64MP sensor from Samsung. The camera configuration includes 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 13MP telephoto lens, 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Unlike the Realme XT, the phone lacks the dedicated macro sensor, but we're expecting the company to offer a Macro mode similar to OnePlus on the Realme X2 Pro. Realme is also teasing the 20X Hybrid Zoom functionality of the smartphone, so it's another interesting feature to watch on the upcoming smartphone. On the front side, the Realme X2 Pro has a 16MP shooter for capturing selfies and video calls.
Because the phone has an AMOLED screen, Realme has added an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and connectivity options on the handset include Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a USB Type-C port. Lastly, the X2 Pro also offers stereo speaker setup, Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos technology.
Realme X2 Pro: Expected Pricing in India
The Realme X2 Pro will likely come in two variants- 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. We're expecting the prices to be Rs 29,999 and Rs 34,999 in the Indian market, but we all know how aggressive is Realme when it comes to pricing. So an even aggressive price for the Realme X2 Pro will not come as a surprise. Realme is also partnering with DJI to offer DJI Osmo 3 gimbal and Realme X2 Pro bundled. Details of this partnership will be announced at the India launch on November 20. Lastly, the Realme X2 Pro will be exclusive to Flipkart in the Indian market.
Realme X2 Pro: What Makes it a Differentiator in the Market?
The Realme X2 Pro will take on the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro and Asus 6Z which are currently the cheaper phones in the country with Snapdragon 855 chipset. We're not expecting the X2 Pro to take on the OnePlus 7T in terms of pricing, but it will be below Rs 30,000.
The Realme X2 Pro will surely be the cheapest phone in the market with 90Hz Fluid AMOLED display and Snapdragon 855+ chipset. Additionally, it features the 50W Super VOOC charging technology alongside a 64MP quad-camera setup. These four features make the Realme X2 Pro a differentiator in the affordable flagship smartphone segment. That said, the pricing of the Realme X2 Pro will be key as well to succeed in the country.
