Several people have reported a bizarre image issue in Pixel phones. In the issue, any screenshots sent from an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus phones via SMS/or any other means will appear distorted in Pixel XL phones. It seems to be a bug and is widely reported in the U.S.
“When I get a screenshot from an iPhone 7 Plus texted to me as a text attachment (a.k.a. MMS), it comes across all distorted. Screenshots of the iPhone home screen texted to me are fine. Screenshots from within any app (native or not) on the iPhone come across distorted (native phone, messages, email, as well as 3rd party apps like ESPN, etc.),” a user posted on Pixel User Community forum.
However, there are no issues for the images sent from iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S. It is not clear if the error comes when a screenshot is sent reverse, from Pixel XL to iPhone 7 Plus.
Google has not identified the problem. A community specialist in Google has responded saying that the issue is confined to iPhone 7 device and to reach out Apple support for the resolution. However, iPhone to iPhone screenshots delivers properly. Hence, this may not be true.
“Screenshots from within any app (native or not) on the iPhone come across distorted (native phone, messages, email, as well as 3rd party apps like ESPN, etc.),” another user confirmed.

“It has happened with screenshots from multiple senders.”
In a related thread about this on Reddit, some users have suggested that using a different SMS solved the problem, which suggests it's a problem with the Google Messenger app. The bug could be in the new Android 7.1 operating system.
