Oppo Reno 3 series will go official in China in the coming weeks. Today, Oppo has officially added a registration page on its Chinese website which also has some key specs of the upcoming smartphones. The Oppo Reno 3 series will have two smartphones- the standard Reno 3 and the Oppo Reno 3 Pro with 5G support. Oppo is heavily teasing the Reno 3 Pro 5G on social media platforms as it will be amongst the first phones to feature Snapdragon 765G chipset. The first phone with the latest mid-range Qualcomm chipset would be the Redmi K30 which will go official tomorrow in China. The Oppo Reno 3 will be a different smartphone compared to the Reno 3 Pro 5G, but there will be some similarities between the two phones, at least that's what the leaks suggest.

Oppo Reno 3 Series Key Features Revealed: What to Expect

Firstly, let's talk about the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G which will be the star in Reno 3 series. The Reno 3 Pro 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset and it will have up to 12GB of RAM. As the name of the smartphone itself suggests, it will have 5G support, whereas the Reno 3 is expected to be a non-5G variant. Furthermore, the Reno 3 Pro 5G will have a glass back and it will measure 7.7mm in thickness.

The handset will weigh 171 grams and there will be an in-display fingerprint scanner as well. On the front of the phone, there will be a punch-hole housing the 20MP selfie shooter. On the back of the phone, we get quad-camera setup with a primary 64MP lens, probably.

Moving onto the Oppo Reno 3, the handset will have quad-camera setup on the back, but on the front, it will differ a lot compared to the Reno 3 Pro 5G. The Oppo Reno 3 will sport a teardrop notch on the front of the phone and it could be packed by a 4025mAh battery.

Both the Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro 5G already received TENAA certification in China. Going by the specs listed on TENAA, the Reno 3 will rock a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display and 48MP quad-camera setup will be present on the back. Frontal, the Reno 3 is listed to have a 16MP selfie camera.

The Reno 3 Pro 5G will have 90Hz refresh rate, going by the TENAA listing. Both the phones are also said to come with 30W wireless charging support, but Oppo is yet to confirm this feature.

Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G vs Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G

In other news, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G will take on the Redmi K30 5G which will go official tomorrow in China. The Redmi K30 5G will also have identical specs as the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G as the phone is said to ship with 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 765G chipset, 4500mAh battery with 30W fast charging and 15W wireless charging support. The Redmi K30 will also offer quad-camera setup on the back along with a dual selfie camera setup. The Redmi K30 will also come in a non-5G variant to take on the Oppo Reno 3, but the specs of this model are not known at the moment.

While smartphone brands in China are eagerly waiting for the affordable 5G smartphone battle to kick in, in India, the scope for 5G network launch is still years away.
