Ooredoo has successfully tested 5.5G technology in Oman, achieving high network speeds and setting a new standard for connectivity in the region. The company announced that the new technology reached a single-user peak rate of over 4.6 Gbps during the test, marking the fastest network speed ever recorded in Oman. "This isn't just an upgrade; it’s a whole new level of speed, capacity, and reliability that's set to redefine connectivity in Oman," Ooredoo said in a statement on Monday.

Ooredoo’s successful 5.5G tests, conducted in collaboration with Huawei over the last few months, mark a pivotal moment in positioning the company at the forefront of telecommunications innovation and paving the way for a hyper-connected Oman, the official release said.
