After a series of leaks and speculations, OnePlus has finally taken the wraps off the OnePlus X. The launching was done through simultaneous events worldwide. The phone will be available in two variants — Onyx and limited edition Ceramic, the former one will be retailing at a price of Rs. 16,999, while the latter one will be available at Rs. 22,999. The company will be manufacturing just 10,000 units of the Ceramic variant. OnePlus has collaborated with Amazon for selling the device in India from November 5. As expected, it will also be based on the ‘invite’ model.
OnePlus revealed that the device would be up for open sale as well, which will start from December. The OnePlus X will be the first device by the company that will be manufactured in India. The company didn't reveal who's manufacturing the device for them in India, but they did reveal that the OnePlus X will be manufactured in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Coming on to the specifications, the phone features a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage onboard, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oxygen OS 2.1 on top, and sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, phase-detection autofocus, along with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. In the connectivity department, it supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and is backed by a 2,525mAh battery.
It is a hybrid dual-SIM device, which means that user can use one slot for microSD card. Similar to the OnePlus 2, this one also comes equipped with the ‘alert slider’ that lets the user switch between All Notifications, Priority Notifications, and No Notifications.
