OnePlus 6T Will Run Android 9 Pie Out of the Box, Confirms Benchmark Listing

OnePlus 6T has paid a visit to popular benchmark portal Geekbench, way ahead of its much-awaited launch on October 30. While we all know that the OnePlus 6T will have Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood, it's unknown whether the company will release it with Android 9 Pie or Android 8.1 Oreo, both based on its custom skin OxygenOS. This benchmark listing confirms that the OnePlus 6T will run Android 9 Pie out of the box, which is an excellent news for all the waiting users out there. Notably, OnePlus already pushed the Android 9 Pie update to the OnePlus 6 smartphone and it will be a huge disappointment for OnePlus fans if the 6T comes with Android 8.1 Oreo on board.

OnePlus 6T Geekbench Listing: What Does it Hint Us?

The key takeaway from this benchmark leak is the Android 9 Pie OS, and it also confirmed that the 6T would feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, clubbed with 8GB of RAM. To recall, the OnePlus 6 arrived in three variants with 6GB+64GB of storage, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB of internal storage. There's no room for storage expansion though.

The variant used for this benchmark is the 8GB RAM version and it achieved a single-core score of 2510 and a multi-core score of 8639. These scores are on par with what the OnePlus 6 achieved in the past. The OnePlus 6T listed with model number- FS FS P8801 because right now, it must be running a preview version of the software. In the past, the OnePlus 6 listing displayed NS NS P7819 ahead of the launch.

OnePlus 6T Will Run Android 9 Pie Out of the Box

OnePlus rolled out the Android 9 Pie update to OnePlus 6 a couple of weeks ago, and since then, there has been a lot of talk regarding which version of Android will the OnePlus 6T run. Clearing all the confusion, this benchmark report confirms the 6T will indeed offer Android 9 Pie out of the box, and of course, it will be topped with OxygenOS.

For the unaware, OxygenOS is OnePlus' proprietary skin built on top of Android and is loved by many users out there. That being said, OxygenOS 9 brought a lot of features to the OnePlus 6. And we could see some more coming with the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus 6T: What We Know So Far?

Well, by now, you must've been hearing a lot of thing about the OnePlus 6T. And it's common with OnePlus smartphones as the company builds some hype while some hype comes from the leaks. And it continues with the OnePlus 6T as the phone ships with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The OnePlus 6T will have a waterdrop notch screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The smartphone will have the Snapdragon 845 chipset under the hood, clubbed with 6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone will come in the same Midnight Black and Mirror Black colour options, but we might see OnePlus launching various colours in the future. Also, the phone lacks 3.5mm headphone jack but features a 3700mAh battery.
