OnePlus launched the OnePlus 6T last night in an event in New York. The company is set to launch the phone in India today. As far as the design of the phone is concerned, there are no two thoughts that the OnePlus 6T looks almost like the OnePlus 6, especially from the back side. On the front, the difference on the OnePlus 6T is the waterdrop notch, under display fingerprint sensor and the much slimmer chin. The OnePlus 6T has been launched for $549 in the US. In India, the smartphone is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs 38,000. Compared to the OnePlus 6, the OnePlus 6T come with some tweaks here and there. So, if you have the OnePlue 6 already should you upgrade to the OnePlus 6T? Well, that’s a question we can answer once we review the 6T. But before that let’s take a quick look at all the differences between the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus 6T vs OnePlus 6: Design
Both the OnePlus phones looks almost the same. As noted, especially from the back panel. On the rear panel, the OnePlus 6T comes with the camera setup as the OnePlus 6. But unlike the OnePlus 6, the OnePlus 6T misses on the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Instead, OnePlus has placed the sensor under the display on the front. The OnePlus 6T comes with a slightly bigger screen space compared to the OnePlus 6. The 6T sports a 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The phone similar to the OnePlus 6 comes with an AMOLED panel and screen-to-body ratio of 86%. In comparison, the OnePlus 6 comes with the 6.28-inch screen with Full HD+ display and resolution of 2280 X 1080 pixels.
OnePlus 6T vs OnePlus 6: Processor
This is another area where both the phones are the same. Both the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with an Adreno 630 graphics processor.
OnePlus 6T vs OnePlus 6: RAM and Storage
OnePlus has got rid of the 64GB storage model for the OnePlus 6T. The newly launched OnePlus 6T comes with two RAM variants — 6GB and 8GB. Same goes with the OnePlus 6. On the storage front, the OnePlus 6T comes with 128GB and 256GB storage models. In comparison, the OnePlus 6 comes in three storage models — 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. So, OnePlus 6T has been launched in three models — 6GB RAM/128GB, 8GB RAM/128GB and lastly 8GB RAM/256GB.
OnePlus 6T vs OnePlus 6: Camera
In addition to the hardware, the camera is another area where the OnePlus 6T is similar to the OnePlus 6. On the rear panel, both the smartphones pack a primary sensor of 16MP and secondary sensor of 20MP. On the front, the OnePlus 6T a 16MP camera, while the OnePlus 6 comes packed with a 20MP sensor. OnePlus 6T comes with several new camera features like Night Scape (this will help is capturing well-lit pictures in low-light) and Studio mode. OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 6T camera features will come to OnePlus 6 very soon.
OnePlus 6T vs OnePlus 6: Battery
This is where the OnePlus 6T leads. The OnePlus 6T comes with a much bigger battery setup compared to the OnePlus 6. The 6T is backed by a 3700mAh battery; the OnePlus 6, on the other hand, consists of a 3300mAh battery setup. Both the phones come with Dash charging support.
