OnePlus, during the launch event of the OnePlus 6, last month said the smartphone would receive the Portrait mode functionality for the front camera with an OTA update in the future. And here it is now. The Portrait mode for the front camera can be accessed very easily inside the stock Camera application. All you need to do is swipe right for the Portrait mode option and hit the front-facing camera button on the left bottom, which will take you to the Portrait mode.

Now moving onto the performance of the Portrait mode on the OnePlus 6, it does a decent job in blurring the background in the image, not the best in the business, but it will get better over the period of time with software updates. In good lighting conditions, the Portrait mode is spot on with a good amount of blur that doesn’t look artificial like other smartphones with Portrait mode. The blurring effect is natural and the images are usable in any means of social media.
