Nokia 6 pre-registrations has now begun on Amazon India, as promised by HMD Global and Amazon. Also, the exciting news is the device will be available for purchase on August 23, although via a flash sale, where millions of Indians will be looking to get their hands on a Nokia 6. The flash sale model could help the company to attract the consumers in the country and how can one forget Xiaomi’ success with a flash sale business model in India.
There are some launch day offers as well. For example, Amazon Prime customers will get Rs. 1000 cashback as Amazon Pay balance if they purchase the smartphone using Amazon Pay. And all the customers will be entitled to get up to 45GB of free 4G from Vodafone India and they will also get Rs. 2,500 MakeMyTrip voucher.
The Nokia 6 is the company's first smartphone under HMD Global. Launched back in January 2017, the Nokia 6 recently became the first smartphone to receive July security patch update ahead of Google Pixel and Pixel XL. The internal specifications of the Nokia 6 don't justify the asking price of Rs. 14,999, but HMD is banking on the build quality and user experience with the Nokia smartphones.
The Nokia 6 is built on 6600 Series aluminium (same material used to make Apple iPhone 6) and looks gorgeous. The device has a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. HMD could have launched the Chinese variant in India because it has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The storage is expandable up to 128GB via the dedicated microSD card slot. The Nokia 6 has a 16MP rear camera, along with an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone comes laden with vanilla Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but there are a couple of Amazon preinstalled apps in the Indian version because the device is exclusive to Amazon India.
The phone has two loudspeakers powered by Doby ATMOS sound, making it an audio device. And yes, it has 3.5mm headphone jack as well. Connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device has a Micro-USB port.
