HMD Global has made a habit of launching Nokia phones with old monikers and latest hardware. A few of them are the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 3310 and the Nokia 8110. Tomorrow, there will be another smartphone adding to the list, which is the Nokia X. The Finnish company has already set a launch event for unveiling the Nokia X in China tomorrow, but until now, it did not officially reveal it. That has changed now as the company has posted a teaser image of the Nokia X on microblogging platform Weibo. That said, the teaser image did not reveal anything about the smartphone. Instead, it confirmed that the phone's coming tomorrow.
The teaser image states that the event will start on April 27 and end on May 2, but we're not sure what HMD is cooking. But there's the presence of Nokia X name in the image, which confirms the smartphone's launching is happening. Maybe, we will get to see more than one smartphone launching during the event. As per media reports on the web, there could be two smartphones in the Nokia X lineup- the standard entry-level Nokia X and a mid-range Nokia X6.
Specifications of the Nokia X were not revealed, but the Nokia X6 is said to come with decent mid-range specifications. The Nokia X6 is rumoured to come with a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, meaning the device is tipped to have a notch on top, like other smartphones releasing these days.
The Nokia X6 is expected to come in two variants- one with the Snapdragon 636 SoC and the other one with MediaTek P60 SoC. To the back of the phone, there will be two cameras with 12MP sensors with ZEISS lens. It is also revealed that the Snapdragon 636 variant of the Nokia X6 will come with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, whereas the MediaTek variant will settle down with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, both the variants will feature the same design and display.
Like other Nokia smartphones, the Nokia X6 will also boot Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. There are no details about the specifications of the standard Nokia X. The devices will go official tomorrow or between April 27 to May 2.
